About

Note: the book club is not active any more.

We work through books related to recovering from growing up in dysfunctional families (e.g. alcoholism,  physical and/or sexual abuse, emotional abuse, neglect and abandonment,…).  The format changes, from members introducing books which have been useful in their personal growth to doing exercises from recovery work-books.

The club meets every Wednesday evening (7-8:30pm) at the following location:

St. Anselm’s Church (Library room)
4-6-22 Kami-osaki
Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo

*PLEASE DO NOT PHONE THE CHURCH*
The meeting is not affiliated with the church. They are kindly providing us with a room for the meetings and have no information about the group.

To get to the meeting first find your way to Meguro Station on the Yamanote Line which is two stops from Shibuya.

St. Anselm’s is about a 1-2 minute walk from JR Meguro station. From the station, take the west exit. Turn left as you exit onto the street. Walk across the intersection and to the left of Mitsui Sumitomo bank. Take the second left and walk down the street until you see the Catholic church on your left. Please enter through the open gate that opens up to a big lot. We are in a room in the International building on the right-hand side. Please look for the ACA sign in the window.

Meetings are open to everyone.
